You just better play the title track. Or I shall play it myself after DSOM
is finished.

He might deliberately avoid that track and "Riders On The Storm".

In the true spirit of 'Where were you when you heard the news about JFK?'
I can remember exactly where I was when I heard LA Woman (the track) for
the first time.

Twas back in the days when Simon Bates had a show on Radio One and in the
days when Bates would allow someone with disc jockeying talent to take
over when he went on holiday.

There came a time when he realised that the competition showed him in a
bad light and made sure that only non-DJs stood in for him, but we are
talking 1989 and he was blissfully unaware of his own awfulness, so he let
Mike Read stand in.

Now Read may have had his failings but his taste in music was (and
probably still is) pretty damned good, so I really enjoyed the weeks that
he replaced Mrs Bates little boy.

He may lose his longest standing listener.

There's a principal here. I mean, it's a brill album but choosing *not* to
play the best track would be like treason or something.

Actually, L.A. Woman was the first LP I bought with my little pocket
money - before that it was always samplers ("Best of", etc). That Doors
album fascinated me totally..
