Ah well, the summer is nearly over, and the warm weather is abating.
However, there is one aspect of summertime in the UK that has always
perplexed me. I have noticed that women and men tend to wear rather less
garments during periods of warm weather than they might do when the
temperature is cooler. The chaps and their pret a porter is not really of
concern to me, except that I never truly understand why men deem it
necessary to wear shorts and inflict their knees upon us more reserved
types. But women? Oh women, what would we be without you? You are a divine
breed, but must you forever wear tops that positively ooze bare bosums over
flimsy clothing. Really, it is more than a man can stand. And, if we stare
at these oozing mounds, we are branded as sexist and one-track mind
automations...

Try it. Wear shorts for a week then go back to longs. They drag, they make
you too hot. I've just had my first night at the pub in longs since about
March, and I don't feel comfy. Take my advice, wear shorts as much as
possible, but when you go to the pub, and need to relieve yourself, use the
cubicle, not the urinal. The only thing worse than splashing your own legs
is the next man coming in and splashing your legs. All men should experience
this, if only to know what their trousers are subjected to when wearing
longs.
