McCain's, in Canader, used to make frozen "Potato Patties" which were
about 2cm by 8cm by 1cm and were sold in two types on plain and one
with onions. I loved the onion potato patties because they had a really
nice flavour and aroma when heated (and with Chili sauce they were
utterly scrumptious). A while ago, for some reason, they disappeared
from the stores. They have recently been re introduced, a bit smaller,
different in shape (and high priced) - but the Onion ones are still
gone so I don't buy them any more - sad really.
And pickled Onions are a real no, no for me according to my MD. Sighhhh
