One of the awful things about this show is just that. Stuff you thought
(hoped) had been consigned to the great recycling bin keeps coming back
and haunting you.

My requests next Monday will all be 1961. I'll be interested to see just
how many he plays.

Granny. I love this. It's on the Matthew and Son album. Good old G.

I for one used to love the old Cat Stevens for his music.

Matthew and Son was a fairly duff track on an album that had some true
beauts.

'Here comes my baby' (made famous by the Trems as a jaunty little ditty)
is superb as sung my Mr Stevens himself.

My favourite song at the time was the mixed English/ Greek song
"Rubylove", and of course "Morning Has Broken"
:-)

Most favouritist of all Cat things ever, for me, was the Foreigner Suite -
or Peace Train - or Father and Son

Both are really wonderful songs, too - I agree.

Neil Diamond wrote a lot of stuff for the Monkees.

..I think that since The Monkees were at first (what about later?) an
artificial project set up by the music industry it would well fit in for
the usual culprits (joking!) to write for them. And quite a few good
songs have come out of the "Monkees" project, too.

The Monkees were manufactured for a television programme. However, it
turned out that they actually had some musical talent of their own.
