Many many years in fact, since I heard a new Beatles track. Tonight, not
several minutes ago, VCR played Hey Bulldog by the Fab Four, and d'ya know
what Uncle enzo, I'd never heard it before.

I thought, at first, I was listening to a John Lennon track, I mean, it's
very possible, nay probable, that there are Lennon tracks that have passed
me by, but then the hook, the chorus and the words 'Hey bulldog' and I
knew where we were. the Yellow Sub album. Only available, in this house,
on a donated MP3 discfull, and unplayed since YelSub does not rate *that*
highly on my list of fave Beatle tracks.

Enny rode up, just for a momento, I was back in my yoof 'digging' a
Beatles song for the first time. Good track too. I shall play it several
times, later.

Indeed they are/were overrated. What I wrote about not wanting to relive
the sixties is all about what was overrated then and looked back on with
nostalgia, stuff that wasn't particularly good anyway.

The Beatles and by extension Lennon/McCartney were of their time. They
*were* great in that period. I don't deny loving them then and enjoying
the music to this day, but I have no illusions about *any* of that
sixties stuff being earth shatteringly good.

Of course, something I saw on another group, where you say that you were
born in 61 would explain everything about your musical opinions.

For me, it was the exact reverse. I knew the music but it did now (or very
little) for me. Be different now that Mr Gary has opened my ears.

I'm sorry. Blame it on the heat. And the beer. And my age. ;-)

Listening to Kasey Chambers. But I was listening to Axel Rose when I
wrote that.
