I liked that Grapefruit track. I've only ever heard one by them before
(Dear Deliliah) and I've requested it on a couple of occasions. To no
avail. But I'll settle for that one. Whatever it was called.

I liked it too, although I thought it was the Four Seasons.

Hi RJ. What's this new machine that you've got? Has it got Suse on it yet?

Must admit that I had no idea who it was. But I'd love a copy.

Nice Spoonful track.

No, that one will be on a live DVD for the time being.

I am just getting to know VISTA, and find it quite intriguing.

I tried to install Suse 11 on a spare laptop but for some reason the
machine won't boot from the DVD drive, so it'll stay as a live CD for a
while here as well.

I saw Vista once for about a minute before I installed Kubuntu on the
machine and wiped all trace of Big V. It is the wife's latest machine and
I don't want to be her resident tech team again. Not after ME. ;-)

Do you think I'm insane?

I used to have a machine with 98 on it and a geek of my acquaintance, said
he had a 'copy' of the latest thing from M$ and would I like it installed.
Well like a silly boy, I said yes.

What a load of garbage that was.

I'd dabbled wiv Linux prior to that but it suddenly became a priority
because I couldn't for the life of me reinstall 98 on that box. Linux
(Suse 6 I do believe) rode straight over it and installed beautifully. The
rest is Penguin history.

No, the ME that I refer to was on a new box that I bought for the fair
Wendy and it was a nightmare but she'd used Windoze at work and wouldn't
lightly forsake it. However after about six months when she finally
realised that the OS went or she did, she agreed to try Linux and has
never looked back.

I agree. I had a computer that had Win98SE installed and I never had any
problems with it. My dad bought a new computer that came with WinME
installed and he thought it was great. A colleague at work also only had
good things to say about WinME so I decided to upgrade. I actually bought
an upgrade disk for it... The installation was a complete disaster - it
was very unstable and kept losing all its devices so I had to reboot every
hour or so.
