I've never had an MP3 player before. I've never needed one. My computer
will happily play MP3s. I don't have a CD player in the car. It's a cassete
tape player. So I burn MP3s to CD and play them on a CD Walkman which has a
tape thingy that fits the tape player. It has always worked well up until
recently. The CD Walkman is over ten years old and it has now become very
unreliable. It continually skips when playing.

So, I decided to replace it. I've taken the plunge and bought an MP3
player. I considered buying some sort of iPod, but you cannot play MP3 and
WMA files on it. You have to use iTunes to convert to a proprietary format.
That's far too much trouble.

So I bought one of these instead.

I did something similar, except mine takes SD cards, so when mt 2 gig's full
I can get another. Great.
Then I got a car that didn't have a tape slot, just CD. So I got one of
those thingys that broadcasts from headphone socket to radio. It works, but
the sound quality is poor. Oh , well. Need new car with MP3 faclities.
