Mr Copper was played by Clive Swift. You've probably seen him as Richard
Bucket in "Keeping Up Appearances".
Captain Hardaker was played by Geoffrey Palmer. His best known role is as
Lionel Hardcastle in "As Time Goes By", with Judi Dench.
Rickston Slade was played by Gray O'Brien who is currently playing Mad-Eye
Tony in "Coronation Street".
The elderly chap in the newspaper stand was called Wilfred Mott. In the new
season of "Doctor Who" we find out that he is Donna Noble's grandfather and
so we'll be seing a lot more of him. Wilf is played by Bernard Cribbins.
This isn't the first time that Bernard has been in "Doctor Who". He
appeared in "Daleks - Invasion Earth 2150 AD" in 1966.
