Everytime I boot up and start WMP11 to rip a CD, during the first song
that's ripping, it's slow to a crawl. I check the processes and one of the
svchost.exe's is using over 100,000k I manually end that process and then
the ripping proceeds quickly and the %%100 CPU drops down. What is causing
this to happen? It's never happened before.
Thanks for any help

It gets a bit warm but pulls in about 4 fairly good connections here
in my near center city location Phila. Pa USA. For 10 bucks I guess I
can experiment with wireless. In a year when my verizon lowered speed
and cost of 12.95 per mo. is over I think I will drop verizon
completely, land line phone dsl and all and just use free wireless. A
number of business nearby seem to allow free use or at least have no
password requirement and pretty soon the city of Phila will have its
wireless system up and running.

Oh, so THAT'S what they are used for! I've been wondering!
And, silly me, there I was worrying about the poor Africans
starving to death while 10 SUV's sit in the garages of more than
one reader of these groups! Slap me silly, PLEASE!
May I also point out that the book called "How to lie with
statistics" is missing from the bibliography.

While you were polite enough to ignore MY question as to your
possible other identity as Mr. Glasser, I see you DO bother to
reply to some.
