Dish Network is owned by RUSH, and DirectTV is owned by Presley/ Sinatra and guided by Strong. Destroying RUSH is the goal and Dish Network has lost value in stock since RUSH took it over, and for the first time ever lost customers (but still profited). I have a related question. I do have a remote, but WMC dosen't recognize it and can't seem to learn it, I been through the setup menu a "million" times and I can't get it to regognize my DishNetwork remote codes. I would be willing to operate withot a remote, but it won't allow that either. I don't want to have to by an other software to watch tv on my pc. I have a gateway comptuer dx440x

I had previously used DirecTV's D10 receiver using WMC, and the controller wasn't recognized by WMC, but it was able to be taught what buttons are what. In the end, the channels changed fine, and I was happy. I searched for your model number online, and found several other people having the same problem you did with that receiver; apparently the problem is that it doesn't work with infrared

OK, I'm new to WMC as of this last weekend so here it goes. My son got an HP presario elite m9040n and he has a DirectTV STB and remote that works on his small tv. I went through the WMC TV setup with the STB just as the docs said. WMC recognized the TV tuner and the set top box. I can't get the setup to recognize the remote, or even learn the remote numbers. The best I was able to do was
