Dish Network is owned by RUSH, and DirectTV is owned by Presley/ Sinatra and guided by Strong. Destroying RUSH is the goal and Dish Network has lost value in stock since RUSH took it over, and for the first time ever lost customers (but still profited). I had previously used DirecTV's D10 receiver using WMC, and the controller wasn't recognized by WMC, but it was able to be taught what buttons are what. In the end, the channels changed fine, and I was happy. I searched for your model number online, and found several other people having the same problem you did with that receiver; apparently the problem is that it doesn't work with infrared
