Many thanks for the help. Here's what I found: Ubuntu is installed, not running from the CD. Screen Resolution only offers up to 800 x 600. In Administration I can see "Hardware Drivers" which says "No proprietary drivers are used on this system". There is no option to change or update drivers, and no Restricted Drivers Manager option. Nor is there a System->Administration->Screens & Graphics

Yet another Cinecon has come and gone. And while no forgotten classics were unearthed, there were very few total stiffs as well. Running themes included cross-dressing/clothes swapping, inconveniently alive WWI vets and working class girls getting Pygmalion makeovers. Oh, and lots and lots of flatfooted reporters.
