Try these command: net use * /d and then net use h: \\SERVER\FOLDER. When asking the username and password, type the username who has right to the folder. It could be 3rd party software. Thanks for your help Bob. On both the Vista or XP Pro on desktop 1 I cannot see desktop 2. So when I go to assign permissions desktop 2 is not an option. I helped a friend last night who had three computers (2 w/ XP Home and 1 w/ XP Pro) and was able to network them without any problems. I have Vista and XP Pro on separate hard drives on my computer called Desktop 1.
