I've got a bit of an issue, I'm running Windows Vista Business in a domain envrionment with roaming profiles. So far everything seems to be working well with two minor exceptions: 1. Everytime a user logs in, they have an icon for their user folder (ex. C:/Users/Test1) appear on the desktop. I'm trying to get rid of this and have yet to find a way 2. We currently use a default user profile on

Doug, That's right I had to uninstall it. I now have the welcome screen back with all users listed and fast user switching. I am all set and a much happier XP user. Thanks again. Yes, you should delete it, unless you know specifically that you need Client Services for Netware. Right click My Network Places and select Properties. Right click your LAN connection and select Properties. In the General tab, This connection uses the following items section, locate the entry for Client Services for Netware, highlight it and click Uninstall. The Netware client is for

Both of my admin accounts are now visible within the Control Panel, but I have to log in through the old style login box. When I attempt to change the way users log on or off, I get a message which reads: Client Services for Net Ware has disabled the welcome screen. Any thoughts on what that is and whether I should delete it? "Doug Knox - [MS-MVP]" wrote: > It's possible that the user

It's possible that the user account was hidden by a registry setting. How or why this would have gotten set, other than some type of malware, I don't know. Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList Look for an entry in the right pane that matches the missing user account. If its set to

Doug, Excellent advice. I was able to access my user account. Now the old style log in box appears when I boot. Do you know how I can return to the welcome screen with the user icons? My BP just went down big time. Thanks a million. "Doug Knox - [MS-MVP]" wrote: > At the logon screen, press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice (with no users logged in). > You'll get the older style logon

As I recall there is something weird about the floppy. It MIGHT be that the drivers have to be in a directory called Drivers, NOT in the root. I believe that is the case for Windows Home Server. Worth a try. OR Go into the BIOS and put the drives into compatibility mode. -----Original Message----- From: Tony Harding [mailto:ToHard@nowhere.org] Posted At: Sunday, February 17,
