On the subject of the long tail thing, Word Tracker (www.wordtracker.com) is a great tool, although I've never used it in serious anger. Basically you give it a few suggested keywords / phrases, and it suggests dozens of other similar ones, some good, some less good, that you might not have thought of. Then it does the clever stuff with the ones that you decide might be worth pursuing
