In the film Tombstone, Kurt Russell as Wyett Earp tries to goad Billy Bob Thorton into drawing his pistol. Russell stares him in the eye and says... "Go ahead, go ahead. Skin that smoke wagon." The word "skin" refers to taking the pistol out of the holster. OK so far. "Smoke" refers to what happens when you fire a pistol whose ammo is filled with black powder. Also OK.
