...'t think this is really different from writing C glue routines for a typical Unix environment... because in this case, the routines that are wanted are POSIX C calls. Well, the default argument passing mechanisms are different for various data types, so you have to take care of that, yes. On VMS, it's of course C which is the odd language out, not Fortran, in this regard. Jan
