There is also the fact that Dallas authorities bend over backwards to deny that there was ANY Mafia-related activity in Dallas in 1963, that Marcello had ANY influence in Dallas, and that an attendee at the national Mafia conference in 1957 had no known Mafia connection. Ruby of course had all the mob phone calls all over the country the month of the assassination where he never had before. Ferrie had spent the two weekends with Marcello at his Churchill Downs home prior to the assassination, and being there solely just for the court case of Marcello doesn't
