Canada is exactly an example of the failure of these attempts to placate particular groups by abandoning traditional symbols. In the end it does not work. If anything, the gestures are never enough and they are often kicked back in one's face. Australia has an example of its own in the National Anthem. The "Queen" was replaced by "Advance Australia Fair". Apparently nobody
