I am going to be guessing here but.. VS2008 stuff is NOT part of standard XP Pro ... is not part of XPe either. Until the VS2008 runtime support files become a part of a XPP update (probably will be something...KM I've finally located the VC++ runtime support/SxS files in Software : ... files. When will these components be updated to contain the VS2008 (and VS2005) runtime files?

I've finally located the VC++ runtime support/SxS files in Software : System : System Services : Application Support. But even with the Feb 2008 patches, they only contain the VC 6.0 files. When will these components be updated to contain the VS2008 (and VS2005) runtime files?
