Mohammad, "Best approach" is subjective of course but one approach that fits your criteria would be eConnect. It has a schema for both GL & BankRec so that you can push your transactions into GP to whatever company you desire with your app running as a service. Thanks for your reply Will, Yes, that quite inidcate the presence icon rely on the client-side installed office component. And since it require you to login the messnger, that means it is likely using a running COM server to get the info. This is the best way to go when modifying a standard graphical report. I also tested creating a new report and plugged in the following fields: *Date: [Sys Date] *Time: [Sys Time] And it showed up the information as expected

If you want to update payroll but not the General Ledger or Bank rec, you can post a manual check with the type of "Beginning Balance" Under (Transactions | Payroll | Manual Checks) change the check type to "beginning balance". These do not use check numbers, in payroll the all the check numbers will display as "Beginning Balance" and this
