For about six months I ran Vista successfully with only 512 MB RAM. I currently have 1.0 GB, and have never had a low memory error. "Low memory" errors when running Windows Mail tend to be bogus, and are often caused by a corrupted email database. Surprisingly, when you uninstall McAfee or Norton, the error goes away.
