Is this the original before clarify, or after clarify. I applied Clarify at 2 to your image, and don't see it destroying the "white" of the plate. The attached has a crop from your image at left, and the same crop after Clarify at 2 in PSP9 at right. But maybe my older eyes just can't see it.
