I think this article is ridiculous. There are ways to foil ticket scalpers besides raising ticket prices. Pearl Jam does this right. First of all, they charge one reasonable price for all tickets, and save the best ones for their fans, who pick them up before the show and it's difficult to scalp them; they also get kicked out of the fan club if they get caught. On the subject of what is wrong with the music industry -- Cohl is the &^$#! who helped to push the cost of concert tickets through the roof back in the 90s when working with Clear Channel. He advised bands to raise their ticket prices to levels similar to what scalpers were getting. Clear Channel also outbid smaller promoters to get artists to sign and then raised ticket prices to cover
