Here in Westport, WA, we haven't seen a Rufous for weeks (maybe a month). We have Anna's migrating south, and they stop off for a drink at the flowers, but only seem to taste at the feeders. That certainly indicates 'immatures' as you said - that and the rather 'ratty' looking feathers (being molted, one assumes). "jadel" <delcolja@ab.edu> wrote in message news:8230421b-6b6c-4d3c-ae4d

Here in N central WV, I've seen only the very occasional female RT,or immatures of one sex or another, moving through for the past week. J. Del Co

>http://www.gardenbanter.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=9611 *Not* a Penstemon, but one of those newer forms of 'lip-less' snapdragons - Antirrhinum majus hybrids. There are several doing the rounds this year and depending upon source, the name seems to vary. 'Bouquet', 'La Bella', 'Bells' all produce these open trumpet flowers. The name of the one in the pic escapes me for the moment
