I am a Trekkie in every sense of the word. SO SUE ME. :) I'm a bit older than you... loved sci-fi before Trek, loved the original series, and call myself a Trekker. If you'd just come out and...

... a decade away. My recollection is somewhat different. The term "trekkie" was originally science-fiction con speak, and was a derisive term...just discoveries in Sci-fi fiction, but in life. In any case, Trekkie is the word that is properly used to designate a Star Trek fan. Too bad if Sci-fi fans (who are probably also Trekkies) have a problem with that.
