... was apparently baking, we had rain, sea mists and too little wind. Still the company was good and Sunday p.m. we managed to drop the hook close to the start line for the Transat Race when there were only light breezes but sunshine. ...as they cover single engine failure. Not my experience. In a suprising number of cases the pilots are able to glide to safety. The glide slope of a 777 gives 12 minutes from 35,000 feet. Where do you get 12 minutes from ? That Air Transat glided longer than that. More like 30 minutes IIRC. 12 minutes from 35,000 feet is a fairly fast rate of descent in fact. Graham
