The asterisk * is used as a wildcard (i.e. any number of characters) in the operations you have tried. To have Excel treat it as a character, you must preceed it with a tilde symbol ~, eg in Find/ Replace: Find What: ~* Replace with: leave blank will just remove the asterisk characters. Hi Chloe, Another sad loss for you with the passing of Titan. I enjoy reading your messages concerning your pets that are full of love and compassion. They will surely be missed, but not forgotten. Years of tender loving care and joy. Our thoughts are with you, Carl "Eleonore Beaudoin" <bc461@FreeNet.Carleton.CA> wrote in message news
