Cheers for this. When he writes that my friends saw these characters as . . . real people. They understood them in the same way that they understood the cashiers who sold them their tickets and popcorn out front. In short, my ominous conclusion was that they didn't know how to read the film I couldn't help but conjecture that Barack Obama is nothing more than a Spielberg creation
