I met this problem before. My platform is IXP425 and flash is also Intel Strata flash. What I do is 1. Before erasing the flash, set a flag. 2. After finishing erasing the flash, reset the flag. If system reset when erasing the flash, the flag is not reset. So, I can check the flag when booting up. If the flag is set when booting up, I will erase the flash and then go into WinCE. This way

Hello All, My device uses Intel StrataFlash P30 (32 and 64 MB). It stores Eboot, NK, other configurations and Filesystem. TFAT support is activated. Following are the registry settings. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\MSFlash\FATFS] ;"Flags"=dword:600034 ; FATFS_DISABLE_AUTOSCAN, FATFS_ENABLE_BACKUP_FAT, FATFS_FORCE_WRITETHROUGH ;FATFS_TFAT_ALWAYS, FATFS_FORCE_TFAT

I finnaly made it work. I had to change the call to FormatVolume to add EXFAT flag with the TFAT flag. I kind of missed the part saying that the registry keys affect IOCTL_DISK_FORMAT_VOLUME. Thanks. I tried what you told me and I always receive: FATFS!MountVolume: Successfully mounted regular FAT16 volume. Even if I set formatexfat to 1. Of course I called a format with the new settings before seing this. Hello, our setup is: x86 Platform - cepc WinCE 5.0 Atapi IDE driver for storage (Compact Flash) FATFS In our application, it just so happens that we are working with (creating/removing) hundreds of small files. Of course, this really hits the nerve of TFAT and we are seeing up to a 3x performance hit (some applications are taking 3 times as long using TFAT vs. FAT) Obviously this is due

Hi, i have implemented TFAT (the correct Name is TexFAT in CE 6) and a easy way, to check if my Flash is TFAT formated was to load a debugimage and look for the Debug Output "FATFS!MountVolume: Successfully mounted TexFAT volume.". If this output comes, your Flash is TexFat(TFAT) formated, otherwise not. I assume that you have selected TFAT and ExFat in your OsDesign. My TFAT

Hi, I want to activate TFAT on Windows CE 6 for a flash device. But when I call CeGetVolumeInfo the flag tells me that it is not activated. Here are my reg keys: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\EXFAT\FormatOptions] "FormatTfat"=dword:1 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\EXFAT] "FriendlyName"="exFAT FileSystem" "ForceWritethrough"=dword:1 "LFNExtendedAlways"

I think that is true pre CE6. Ive run a test with our hardware hooked up to a plc and automatically rebooted the terminal. After 250000+ reboots the TFAT is still allright. Yes, I am sure that it's formated as TFAT. I don't think its TFAT related, but I can of course be wrong :) I would like to know why CE decides that the hive is invalid and recreates it. I can't find the source code
