Whats interesting about "Bluegrass" is the term was first coined by Monroe about 1939, but the music he played was generally called "Country" Or "Hillbilly" music until the mid 1950s. It was not really known as a seperate genre for nearly 2 decades after Monroe began calling it Bluegrass. I think it had to take some time to both catch on and evolve. And though it was Monroe who adapted the approach
