yes, because the router will take care of that pppoe connection. With connecting that router to the 2nd network adapter (in another range than the internal nic), you will get a perfect connection. Well OK Marina, I can do that but this is a usb modem provided by the ISP, we're running Exchange & ISA and non of the clients are having any issues with web access, remote access to the server or email and this is exactly what we were using with our SBS2000 server with no problems. Do you really think this has a bearing on connections to files on the hard disk? Also the error relates to

Hi Jon, Wrong, it IS related. You are using a PPP connection to the ISP. Do a search on your Broadcom NIC also. Several posts in here about problems with them. Do you have a router in between your SBS and Internet?
