Thank you for your replies. What I have is a COM server with an object which is not a singleton. Clients access functionality through this object. They all access some shared memory in the CMyModule class. Now I have a second object, totally unrelated to the others. Also not a singleton. When I start the application by clicking the Icon I get 1 instance. If I then run a VB Script accessing

You do need to ensure that the executable runs under a specific account, and not as the launching user. The latter case often leads to multiple executables running with clients running under unique accounts. Use DCOMCFNG to set the security context for the DCOM server. From Osher Doctorow A DESCENT in a permutation p is a pair of adjacent entries (pi, pi+1) such that pi pi+1, where i, i+1 are subscripts. A PAT is defined recursively as first a singleton, then a PAT of length = 2is a PAT iff there is a unique split point that divides p into subpermutations p1, p2 with all entries in p1 all entries in p2 and also the reverse of p1 and p2 is a PAT.
