It was a really stupid and short-sighted decision by the Navy ever to get rid of the excellent, traditional Service Dress Khaki uniform in 1975. The decision to deep-six it was reportedly driven by Admiral Elmo Zumwalt who was the CNO from 1970-1974. Now, Service Dress Khaki appears it may be coming back. SDK is one of he best-looking of the naval uniforms designed for chiefs and officers
