... are using and whether or not they have the message. I can only comment on the off line reader I am using. It has tropes threading to messages that have not arrived. I can get it to rethread when the message does arrive but that takes extra time. I can also work back through the treading to find the message being replied to if I have it but there are no delivery guarantees with usenet....
