I ran a set of the first generation red Silblades for almost ten years with no squeaking, etc. and only changed them because I accidentally hit one with a pressure washer and there just happened to be a sale on the carbon fibre armed ones when I went looking for a replace. The fibre armed ones refuse to squeak as well, plus they fit that silly 12 inch Jeep size. Actually they fit nicely

I've just replaced my front wipers (fitted in April 2002) with a pair of new Champion AeroVantage ones. Firstly, I got them from www.wiperblades.co.uk for £15.08 (inc. P&P). I could have got them from my local KwikFit depot for £23.98! Secondly, I have just done a trip from Bristol to Street and back, across the Mendip hills, in rainy weather.
