I'd suggested something similar a while back (namely, that the CTS should allow teams to choose either a diesel or a gas engine, with some suitable equivalence formula - this was motivated by observing that one of the interesting stories in the ALMS is the battle between the diesel Audi and the gas Porsche, with the more powerful Audi having the advantage on the big tracks, and
