Some of my programs are already a few years old but since they aren't core requirements for me, I continue to use them happily at their earlier versions. Hi Jesse, Link target servers don't run the DFS service and don't have anything related to DFS architecture installed on them. So, what you're seeing is normal (if I'm understanding you, that is!) You can create the root on your W2K3 servers at remote sites and this will ensure that your remote users have fast access to the namespace servers. Since those servers are also DCs, the namespace

Domain base root, sorry I forgot to mention that. I guess what I'm saying is... When I first create the DFS Root called "DFSShare" on ServerA, it creates a "c:\DFSShare" folder on ServerA, however it does NOT create that share on my other servers which will have link targets for the link I create . I'd prefer to have the DFS Root and "DFSShare" folder on the DC at my main office, however

So, in that sense it does matter. If that single server goes down, so does your namespace. With a domain-based namespace, you can have multiple servers host the root, but they all must be part of the same domain. This
