We used to, back when we had tile <b>countertops</b> in our kitchen. I generally   don't bother on floor tile. Possibly, though I doubt the Chinese had long term experience with hard,  shiny <b>countertops</b>. More than likely is that hard and shiny is prescribed  somehow, and a kitchen designer says this means granite. Or, a person who  wants granite, interprets h&s in a way to justify ...<br><br>
