Not that evolution doesn't take place, though obviously we're having to speak in terms of hundreds of millions of years, that is unless you've got intelligent design helping out. Cosmic, solar and local radiation does affect our frail DNA, causing mutations, though not always for the better, and from time to time seriously big and nasty stuff like an icy proto-moon did encounter Earth. . - Brad
