Michael Excellent, yes didn't think to check the server admin profiles. You are quite right, In the admin profiles location I have 3 admin users who have logged onto this Vista station. They each have the ususal profile folders, but they also have new folders there marked for example admin2.V2 If this is documented as an issue with Vista clients I'd appreciate a pointer as the link you

It sounds like a permissions error -- the system isn't able to access the directory where the profiles are stored with the user's credentials. When Admins log in, their credentials are sufficient to access the profile location. Here's a possibility, though this isn't my area: The structure of the Vista profile directory is different, so it might create a separate roaming profile. Check
