I've got an Adaptec 2200S RAID controller in a server running 5.3-RELEASE with a GENERIC kernel. (We're going to upgrade Real Soon Now, but I've got to keep things going until then.) It's been running fine for years, but a few days ago, it started taking about 3 times longer than usual to boot. The error is: (probe0:aacp0:0:0:0): Data Overrun (probe0:aacp0:0:0:0): Retrying Command
