After many hours of banging my head against the wall, I found a way to convert files to a format that won't cause Adobe PP to crash: -disc should be formattted in VR. -disc must be finalized (in the camcorder) before you can copy files to PC. You can still add more footage after finalizing. Finalizing takes about 10 minutes. (finalizing is an option in the camcorder setup menu) -put

I think I found the problem on the Adobe support forums. Basically I'm screwed because PPro is not compatible with DVD recorders: http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bc1de39 Teaching is the worst job in the world. Hi, I am a school teacher trying to figure out how to get Premeire Pro V7 going. I have spent hours and hours on this so far and am exhausted at this point. Whenever I try and import an mpg file that I've created into Premeire, it crashes. I've tried it on several computers, all ~1 Ghz CPU, 500 Ram, Win XP, and still crashing. I'm guessing that it's the file type that Premiere doesn't
