I don't travel that frequently, so I could check out "pay as you go" options on a pre-paid cell phone. The only issue I'll have to consider is whether or not I can "top up" while I'm away. Since my power of attorney has a debit card for my bank account, having him purchase minutes for me is always an option, but I had thought purchasing a phone and prepaid minutes from the US might be easier.
