Reports just don't export to Excel very well. What I have done in the past for clients who want well formatted Excel sheets from the Access data is use Automation to create the Excel file using VBA in Access. Another possibiliy is to use MS Query to pull Access data from Excel. That would be creating an Excel template, then opening the template and running the query to pull the data in
