The Article you referenced I have read even before I posted my question. This article talks about explorer and media player for Mac, which are both no longer suppoterd by microsoft. My question, if you read it carefully is about safari and fire Fox, which are crossbrowser issues. The response i expected was a link to http://www.w3.org and the standards for cross browser embedding and scripting

Please read the article I provided. It clearly states WMP on Mac has no scripting interface for you to hook into. Your script won't work on Safari, as WMP plugins aren't scriptable there. The object model below simply won't operate, even if Flip4Mac is installed, because it will be using the Quicktime object model.
