I have to concur with Ray on that. Software methods always produce visible and often severe video artifacts, so the best way to convert PAL to NTSC is the method John Heck wisely suggests -- namely, play the PAL disc in one DVD player and record the video in an NTSC DVD recorder. To make that work you will need a digital Time Base Corrector to get rid of copy protection. I use the AVT 8710, which
