Personal experience: I have a .46LA that has been on at least a half dozen planes. After a total crap experience with a Magnumb .40XL that never ran right (didnt matter who tinkered with it, it still "ran" like crap), I replaced the destroyed plane and purchased the OS .46LA. Broke in per instructions, that engine ran and still runs like a champ. Not a powerhouse compared to a ball bearinged

I'm still debating really...I need to remind myself that sometimes aircraft cosmetics needs to come after functionality, so I should spend whatever is necessary to get the appropriate equipment

A comment about the Super Tigre engines. I have a GS-51 ringed and about a week after purchasing it I was ready to throw it away. I just couldn't get it to run right. Then I found a link on the 'net explaining in great detail how to set up these finicky beasts. First thing - ditch the stock glow plug and go with an OS or Fox plug. Second - be very patient with the settings for the first gallon

Mark -- Can't comment on the 65LA specifically, but from what I've heard, all of the early-on problems with the liners have been cleared up (and I think they were mostly 40 related). Around here, we have a Club 40 Pylon Racing circuit where the mandatory engine is the 40LA. We have about 35 racers and I have not seen nor heard of an engine problem since we started well over a year

I know this has probably been drug through the mud a few times here before over the years, but since I'm returning from a 10 year absence in the hobby I'm somewhat out of the loop on some of the engine tech. I'm looking at engines right now, and am scoping out an OS
