Rob - I'm sorry this has been a problem for you. The MBSA 2.0 FAQ indicates that WSUS/MU - the technology on which MBSA 2.0 is based - does not support security update detection for Office products installed using Administrative Installation Points (AIPs). This is detailed in KB 903773 which describes that detection support is no longer provided for AIP installations. KB 902349 provides

Bugger. The new MBSA 2.x tools seems not capable of detecting administrative Office XP installations. Is that correct? After the download of the latest windowsupdateagent20 initiated by MBSA 2.0.1, a revisit to Windows Update tells me I'm missing 13 updates for Office XP. MBSA 2.0.1 reports Office XP updates missing. WU also reports one missing that I believe is the GDI+ issue that I verified manually was installed. Office Update Online and MBSA (hfnetchk) ver 1.2.4013.0 report all patches are applied. Office inventory tool and latest patchdata.xml reports all patches installed. I'm late to this game and unhappy to lose mbsacli.exe /hf I hate it when developers add feature creep while losing backwards compatibility. Not to mention just plain broken apps. Here we've seemingly reverted to checking something other than file checksums/versions for Office XP. These were reported with mbsacli.exe /nd /nvc /wi /catalog [location] filename using mbsacli.exe ver. 2.0.6706

Thank you for that suggestion. There is already a link to the MBSA 2.0 FAQ on the download page, but I have added an additional link directly to "Products supported by Microsoft Update and WSUS" Even with this, it may not be easy to identify which Microsoft products are still in public support, have an MSRC security bulletin issued against them, but do not have support using WSUS technologies
