In case anyone else was interested who is migrating a customer from an Apache server to ASP .NET I thought I would post the news release from Netfirms.com I am not affiliated with Netfirms. No, you won't be penalized by search engines. Actually you will most likely boost your page rank. Using pretty permalinks is a very common technique. To avoid duplicate links and reduce the risk of getting penalized, you must use only pretty URL links in your website. Do not use both types of links for the same webpage. Thanks paul, thanks mark The Validation is something I am going to work on over the xmas period for sure, and also getting mod-rewrite to work correctly. At the moment, If I use any type of 're-writing tool' the site goes on 404 except the home page. have not investigated this..
