Hi Tim Thanks - I must confess Palatino was the only one I could think of except the P is so distinctive I wasn't sure. I tried the comparison with http://typetester.maratz.com but I can't input Garamond Premr Pro Smdb. Your step-by-step was most helpful. I bookmarked it the other day when it was posted here (by you I think). I'll talk him into the Palatino. Thanks again -- Jo

Hi Jo, Palatino Linotype is very close. It renders a little bigger and not as bold, but that can be dealt with. This is a great site for comparing fonts. http://typetester.maratz.com/ Just choose Garamond Premr Pro Smdb in the first column under "Specify your own", then select Palatino Linotype in the second column from either the "from list" dropdown or the "specify your own". I mentioned this link in another thread, and thought it might be useful here as well. Hello, Just as an additional tool regarding fonts..I thought some people might find this interesting. I use it sometimes to compare different fonts at different em, and to see what the standard defaults look like. Sometime's I'll compare Mac and PC fonts by looking at it on both a Mac and PC as it's helpful to be able to look at different types with different sizes, colors, alignment
